Winner of the John Tripp award for poetry, Dafydd Wyn reads from his poetry, composed both in Welsh and English.
His poems delve into his personal background where inanimate objects such as a gold watch or a bird box become symbolic of endearing relationships. He also writes poems in praise of authors such as Graham Greene who have made a lasting impression upon him.
Dafydd Wyn is from the Aman Valley and lives at Glanaman. After graduation, he became an English teacher at Shooter’s Hill Boys Grammar School in London then at Ysgol y Berwyn, Bala and for the last thirty years of his teaching career, he was Head of the English Department at Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera.
He won the Crown at the Urdd Eisteddfod and Emyr Feddyg and Sonnet competitions at the National Eisteddfod. He’s published three English novels including The December
