The Body in the Snow is a fantastic suspenseful murder mystery. Bebe used to be quite the entertainer, however as time goes on her fame starts to fade. However she is bound and determined to regain her fame at any cost. When a murder happens in her neighborhood and her daughter is a suspect the story really takes off. I was on the edge of my seat in this murder mystery trying to figure out “who done it.” Let’s just say the author did a fantastic job keeping me guessing. This book is fast paced and highly entertaining. I hope we get to read more about Bebe in the future. Excellent read!

Oh this was good! I’m still smiling from the way the cast of characters and plot line interwove with scenes that lit up from the page. Being that I’m a fan of The X Factor, I was hooked from the opening pages when the very clever Fischer mentioned that one of the main characters, Bebe Bollinger was being considered as a host for the show. That sets up this character beautifully for she is a singer, a faded singer, who is hoping for a comeback and this story line very smartly does all it can to get in her way of achieving that. As if this isn’t plot enough, interject a neighbor soap-opera loving Nora who gets whose “low class” yet beautiful demeanor get under Bebe’s craw. The other neighbors add to the richness of the plot: a very irritating anal-retentive Christine Morris and her mechanic-helping husband, and of course the detective Beth Cooper who has a string of cold cases to her name, and the daughter.

The story starts with a prologue where there’s an intense relationship and one of the parties is beaten and left in the snow. The story goes back in time and the intensity builds as the characters are introduced with the action beginning right away, at first with personalty clashes that really bring the cast alive. As the plot unwinds back to the scene in the prologue with the body in the snow the reader is left to wonder will the detective finally solve a case and will what’s happening risk Bebe’s chance at renewed fame.

I’ve read and enjoyed several of this author’s books but this one was a real treat. Who doesn’t love a good mystery. Looking forward to more.

The Body In The Snow by Christoph Fischer is a chilling story that captivated my attention. I warmed to this cozy mystery easily as the characters were full of personality and the mystery that surrounded had me curious throughout. There is no lack of drama in the snow covered mountains. Since I have never traveled to Wales this was the next best thing and the escape was exactly what I needed.

Not everything is as it seems so pay attention and enjoy the ride. There were laughs and comedy that worked perfectly with the theatrical storyline. The author tells an unusual tale, in an unusual way and I liked it.

The Body in the Snow is a delightful romp through snow drifts, candle light, nosy neighbors, and fading singers as Bebe Bollinger drinks her way to solving a mystery and discovers her way back to her daughter and her career. I loved how he used the event of a massive snowstorm to hold neighbors captive and to keep other things from moving forward throughout the story.

While there is laughter, there’s also pathos in the characters and certain universal threads through them all. From the couple in a dysfunctional marriage filled with jealousy and rage to the lonely divorcee only wanting a friend, there’s a glimpse into the humanity of us all. The detective off her game is revived by the sometimes ridiculous yet irrepressible Bebe who may not always do the right thing, yet somehow finds a way to right her wrongs.

It’s a fun read. I almost didn’t want the mystery part solved because that would mean the characters would leave me! Here’s hoping there’s more to come from these unforgettable and all too human folks created by the talented Christoph Fischer.”
