“Never Let You Go” by Sabrina Devonshire is a beautiful romantic adventure story set in the idyllic Carribbean. It follows heart broken Sydney as she survives a plane crash on her way to Panama and lets us watch her building a new life for herself.
Sydney fulfills a dying woman’s last wish and takes care of said woman’s baby. Sydney is still trying to come to terms with the end of her marriage. The sad central issues are explored with warmth and grace without ever becoming depressing. Sydney is a great character, determined and strong, and supported by her attractive hunk of a saviour who provides a great romantic interest.
The story covers a lot of ground in realtively short time, from sadness and grief to more joyful experiences.
Devonshire manages to give her central charactes and story enough space and depth.
The book is a wonderful tale of survival and hope, well written and all loose ends are perfectly tied up at the end.
If you love romantic stories with some depth then this is for you.
