Today I have the pleasure of introducing the talented author Ida Tornovski.
Ida was born into a politically divided Europe. Writing only in English now, she spends her time between the ‘old country’ and the United States.
I have read several of her works and can highly recommend them.
“Intermezzo, A Short Love Story” is a very intriguing, mysterious and somewhat confusing short about a meeting between a man and a woman in 1965. This may be part of some odd role play, may be a meeting of spies or a case of mistaken identity. The author keeps us guessing, playing skilfully with our expectations.
Clever and very well written the story keeps the suspense until the very end when all is revealed.
A worthwhile read. Ida Tornovski is a writer to watch.
“Interludes, A Short Lusty Satire” by Ida Tornovski is a selection of short stories about the narrators’ encounters with men – mostly unsatisfactory and short ones.
With great sense of humour that thankfully owes more to irony than sarcasm the stories are presented with wit and in a very light hearted tone. Although it can show the male in its worst bad habits the book remains funny throughout.
The author’s great and witty command of the language makes this an easy yet intelligent read, full of plays on words, original metaphors and inventive descriptions.
The analogy to musical interludes helps to keep the playful character of the book up. The book ended too soon, I could have done with a few more witticisms and laughs. Here is to the next book

“Inter-Galactica: An Otherworldly Brief Romance” by Ida Tornovski is a very entertaining short fantasy story about the brief encounter between a single ‘spinster’ woman and a mysterious alien male.
Who would not consider a romantic liaison with a charismatic mystery man who looks like a superstar, even if he comes from a different planet?
Told in dry wit and with charm this is a very original and understated, lovely and very enjoyable story. I hope there is more to come from this talented new voice
